Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can't contract. That makes the wrinkles relax and soften. Botox is most often used on forehead lines, crow's feet (lines around the eye), and frown lines. Wrinkles caused by sun damage and gravity will not respond to Botox.

Xeomin

Xeomin® is capable of smoothing out the fine lines and wrinkles with long lasting results, and the side effects are typically the same. The difference is that Xeomin® is a “naked” neurotoxin, composed of fewer ingredients.

Dysport

Dysport® reduces the appearance of lines that primarily affect the glabella, the area in between your eyebrows. While Dysport® can help treat glabella wrinkles, it’s only meant for people who have either moderate or severe cases.

Lasting Effects

The effects from Botox will last three to six months. As muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles begin to reappear and need to be treated again. The lines and wrinkles often appear less severe with time because the muscles that affect the areas begin to diminish.

Extremely Low Complications

Although Botox has been effectively administered and tested for the last 20 years, side effects can occur in certain sensitive individuals. Potential Botox side effects include pain at the injection site, infection, inflammation, swelling, redness, bleeding and bruising. Muscle weakness near where the medicine was injected may occur. Effects may also include blurred vision, puffy eyelids, dry eyes, drooping eyebrows, dry mouth, headache or tiredness.
